Interim Chief Operating Officer
As interim chief operating officer, Tara will manage the transitional leadership team which the board of trustees has tasked with implementing the business plan agreed at the 2013 AGM.
Tara has held a variety of management roles within the leisure sector, combining 12 years working in local authorities and 8 years in the private sector, culminating for the last 7 years in a customer-focussed commercial role as executive director of IQL UK Ltd. In this role, Tara operationally oversees all company activity including managing a busy team of 50 staff, developing IQL's 4500 trainers, marketing and promotion, managing partnerships, meeting regulatory requirements and ultimately achieving the company’s vision.
Interim Endorsement Director
After gaining a masters degree in sports development, Ben has forged a career in education and skills development in the sport and physical activity sector. Ben has previously worked with SkillsActive and is now director and consultant with European sports consultancy firm EOSE Services. Ben has over 10 years’ experience in occupational standards, qualifications frameworks, professional registration and endorsement of CPD and higher education programmes, including international work in developing standards for sports management in Saudi Arabia and mapping global rugby coaching qualifications for the International Rugby Board.
Ben is delighted to join the CIMSPA transitional leadership team and hopes his contribution to the Institute will result in a world class system of education and professional development to support managers of sport and physical activity in the UK.
Interim Development Director
Spencer Moore is co-founder of PDR Business Solutions. Spencer, an MBA graduate and qualified lecturer has over 20 years' experience in senior management across the business and education sectors. He brings a wealth of experience from his previous roles as head of business planning and innovation for the Amateur Swimming Association, head of workforce development for British Swimming and head of curriculum at West Nottinghamshire College.
He is also a non-executive director of both the British Equestrian Federation (BEF) and the Institute of Swimming (IoS).
