100 qualifications endorsed against sector-led professional standards

CIMSPA has been working diligently to have qualifications that map to all the professional standards that we have helped develop with employers. Learn what this means for the sector.

  • The general public will have better quality employer-led qualifications that provide them with the work-ready status needed to excel in our industry.
  • CIMSPA Training Provider partners should now only be delivering qualifications that map to our professional standards.
  • The CIMSPA Professional Standards Framework outlines occupations and job roles within the sport and physical activity sector.

This means that there are sport and physical activity qualifications that are fit for purpose after constructive consultations and discussion with employers across the country.

Employers, including our employer partners, can be confident knowing that their sector’s professional body has delivered the necessary resources to maintain the high standards we strive to uphold. CIMSPA have been working with the sector’s awarding organisations to ensure qualifications are in line with our professional standards.

Pearson, one of our awarding organisation partners, said:

“Pearson are delighted to have worked with CIMSPA to produce a new suite of career focused Level 3 BTEC National Sport qualifications and Level 2 BTEC Sports Industry Skills. These ‘work ready’ options are now available to learners because we have embedded CIMSPA professional standards into these qualifications and as such, once achieved, these BTECs provide learners with an entry qualifications into the sport and health and fitness industry and entry into membership with the sectors professional body. We are very pleased to be able to offer our BTEC learners such a rich range of progression opportunities after completion of these qualifications.”

The workforce will have better quality employer-led qualifications that provide them with the work-ready status needed to excel in our industry. Our core mission remains the same; together we’re developing a vibrant, UK-wide sport and physical activity sector, with the highest standards of service delivery.

We encourage all individuals looking to undertake qualifications within the sector to adopt the CIMSPA professional standards endorsed logo as the kitemark of quality training.

DO YOU MEET THE SECTOR’S PROFESSIONAL STANDARDS?

It is essential that all those within the workforce are appropriately trained against peer-viewed and employer-endorsed professional standards.

As the professional body for the sector’s workforce, CIMSPA works to create a single professional and apprenticeship standards framework for the sport and physical activity sector – the knowledge, skills and behaviours required for every sector job role.

CIMSPA Training Provider partners should now only be delivering qualifications that map to our professional standards. This means the standards framework will continue to excel as a career map which offers individuals realistic expectations of job prospects, with clear signalling on what training is required to transition through the pathway and what people need to meet their ambitions.

The CIMSPA Professional Standards Framework outlines occupations and job roles within the sport and physical activity sector, by defining what knowledge and skills an individual must understand and demonstrate to undertake a particular role.
