#EasierToBeActive: CIMSPA supports new physical activity campaign

One in three people is living with a health condition that makes them twice as likely to be inactive.

#EasierToBeActive is a new physical activity campaign set-up in March and run by the National Centre for Sport & Exercise Medicine and Sheffield Hallam University.

CIMSPA is supporting the campaign to help make it easier for people with health conditions to be active and stay active.

The campaign is set to host a national conversation for anyone with a passion for empowering and inspiring those of us with health conditions to be active. Through their national online workshop they will be holding en-masse conversations where everyone can share their ideas, and read, comment and vote on the ideas of others, all anonymously.

Tara Dillon, CEO at CIMSPA said, “Nobody’s life should lack physical activity just of underlying health conditions. We can find ways to include physical activity in their lives and get more people more active.

“This is especially important during the current Covid-19 outbreak when going out is almost impossible for those with serious health conditions. We should strengthen all resources available and this research will allow us to do exactly that. It’s important to get everybody involved in the national conversation surrounding physical activity.”

Professor Rob Copeland, Director and Dr Anna Lowe, Programme Manager at #EasierToBeActive commented, “We need to work together better to improve the interactions people with health conditions have within the sport and physical activity sector. Together we will empower people with health conditions to get active, stay active, and improve their quality of living.”
