CIMSPA CEO joins Jamie Cartwright at active-net UK

Jamie Cartwright to share his inspiring story at active-net UK in March.

David Monkhouse, director of active-net and CIMSPA chartered member and trustee, will be hosting Jamie Cartwright at the leading networking event for the active leisure sector, active-net UK.

Cartwright, co-owner of Hatton Boxing and founder of BOX12, will be speaking about his mental health struggles following abuse by a football coach when he was younger. In 2021 Jamie participated in the Channel 4 hit series of ‘SAS Who Dares Wins’.

This year’s theme is ‘Making wellbeing our goal’. CIMSPA CEO Tara Dillon will be joining a short presentation on the topic, followed by a panel discussion.

David Monkhouse said: “With this year’s theme of ‘Making wellbeing our goal’, his inspiring story of resilience in the face of trauma can help others and serves as a poignant reminder of the importance of safeguarding in our sector.”

At active-net UK, delegates will have access to educational seminars and at least 14 one to one meetings with relevant companies/decision makers from local authorities, universities and leisure operators.

The agenda includes:

  • Group sessions, including a panel on the CIMSPA-backed State of Mind survey
  • One to one meetings between buyers and suppliers
  • Networking opportunities at ‘Coffee Pit Stops’ and ‘Fuelling Stations,’ followed by a networking dinner in the evening
  • An exercise class to kickstart Day Two!
