Fusion Lifestyle commits entire workforce to CIMSPA

Fusion Lifestyle is taking the lead in meeting the government’s demands for a better qualified, more professional sport and physical activity sector by becoming the first operator to commit its entire workforce to the Chartered Institute for the Management of Sport and Physical Activity.

The registered charity, which manages 93 leisure facilities on behalf of more than 20 local authority partners, is enrolling all members of staff, from fitness instructors to management, to CIMSPA with immediate effect.

Fusion’s fitness and exercise employees will be removed from REPs to take up CIMSPA’s new affiliate membership, which guarantees the quality of members by ensuring they hold recognised qualifications delivered by CIMSPA-endorsed training providers.

In addition, CIMSPA membership will become a pre-requisite for all employees joining Fusion in the future.

“Fusion is an excellent organisation and employer. They are truly committed to the development of their staff with one of the best in-house training academies I’ve seen. I’m absolutely delighted that they are leading the sector in raising the standards of sport and physical activity professionals and hope other operators will be inspired to follow their example,” says Tara Dillon, chief executive of CIMSPA.

Tim Mills, director of business development at Fusion, said: “Our employees are crucial to our success as an organisation. By committing to CIMSPA, we are investing in the future of our employees and their ongoing professional development to ensure they have the skills and expertise to help our customers live healthier and more active lives.”
