Innovate Awarding accelerate roadmap for professional standards adoption

We’re excited to be celebrating the work of CIMSPA awarding organisation partners Innovate Awarding as they continue to deliver great qualifications for learners in sport and physical activity. Read on for their update on current work.

Introducing Innovate Awarding Innovate Awarding is Ofqual regulated and proud to have achieved a “5 star” rating for end-point assessment (EPA) services through the FE Week mystery shopper programme. Their passion ensures learners have the best possible tools to make them “job ready” for rewarding careers in our sector.

For the new apprenticeship landscape, Innovate have completed a significant investment cycle and already have their EPApro online platform fully operational and available for demonstration (see the explainer video here). This system recently won the 2018 “Innovation of the Year” in the highly-regarded e-Assessment 2018 Awards.

New CIMSPA-endorsed qualifications The Innovate Awarding Level 3 Diploma in Gym Instructing and Personal Training qualification is now fully endorsed against employer-led CIMSPA Professional Standards – a true badge of employability and quality for those who complete it. The qualification has also been approved by Ofqual and endorsed by CIMSPA and is now available for registration.

Innovate have also developed a split version of this qualification for those who wish to specialise – learners can to choose between a Level 2 Certificate in Gym Instructing Level 3 Diploma in Personal Training. These have also been endorsed against CIMSPA Professional Standards, and have been available from 1 September 2018.

Apprenticeship standards updates IAO are currently considering EPA services for Level 3 Community Sport and Health Officer and will be applying to deliver EPA services for Level 3 Personal Trainer and Level 2 Leisure Team Member standards once approved for delivery.

Remember that Innovate offer services across 26 standards and can offer end-point assessment (EPA) across the majority. Details of the standards currently been approved to deliver can be found here.

Innovate Awarding’s customers can access a wide range of resources to support successful end-point assessments for their learners, from a bespoke IT system for EPA with free upfront registration, through clear apprentice learner journeys, to video exemplars of materials and sector-specific webinars.

Qualification development updates Innovate are keeping a high tempo on ensuring their sport and physical sector-relevant qualifications are a leading choices for learners who recognise the value of the sector’s employer-led professional standards.

Upcoming qualifications builds include developing a qualification for the pool plant operative professional standard being produced by CIMSPA.

Also, the qualifications listed below are now under review to ensure they transition smoothly into alignment with CIMSPA professional standards. All are still endorsed by CIMSPA and we’re aiming to complete the transition by December 2019.
