BA Sport Development (Sport Management)
Learn how to manage people in sport and work with organisations from grassroots to elite level on this sport management degree.

This is a broad introduction to working in sport and equips students with the skills to make a positive difference. We ensure that you get great academic and practical experience. You'll interact with industry professionals through lectures from guest speakers, practical projects, work placements and study trips, and you’ll gain practical and applied skills in the management of sport development throughout the programme. By the end of the course, you’ll be able to run sport development programmes, organise events, and develop a critical understanding of how sport works through the programme’s strong academic underpinning. You’ll gain extensive skills and experience in improving your communication, leadership, and teamwork, as well as developing crucial research and evaluation skills.

BA Sport Development (Coaching and School Sport)
A vast amount of sport development activity is targeted towards young people through school-based initiatives. This exciting programme pathway considers broad sporting themes in community sport, talent development, elite sport, sport coaching, managing sport, marketing sport, sport event management, school sport, sports policy and inclusive sport.

We ensure that you get great academic and practical experience of both sport development and coaching young people, with a firm focus on school-based sport development. Throughout the course, you’ll be exposed to industry professionals through thought-provoking lectures from guest speakers, practical projects, work placements and inspiring study trips.

BA Football Development and Coaching
Our football degree prepares you for a career in the football industry. The course is packed with real-life, hands-on experience, allowing you plenty of opportunity to put theory into practice. We work closely with our partners, Plymouth Argyle Football Club’s Argyle Community Trust and Devon FA, to ensure that you have the very best learning experience, with sessions delivered by both academic staff, and industry professionals.

You’ll consider the role of football within the wider sports industry, applying your learning to real-life situations through football development projects, coaching, and performance analysis.

You will be able to run football development programmes, organise events, and develop a critical understanding of how the football industry works. You will gain skills and experiences to improve your communication, leadership, and teamwork, alongside developing research and evaluation skills - all important qualities that are valued by future employers. You will have the chance to gain an array of industry-recognised football coaching qualifications. This will boost your employability and give you a richer variety of experiences.

FdA Sport Studies
The FdA Sport Studies degree has been designed in partnership with employers from the sports industry via our Professional Advisory Group. The course delivers a blend of theory and practice so that students are equipped with extensive knowledge and skills and are therefore highly employable on completion of the course.

You'll explore talent development, elite sport, sport coaching, international sport, education, sports policy and disability sport. BSc Personal Training
Prepare for a rewarding career in personal training, health promotion, exercise referral, health training and community interventions with our BSc (Hons) Personal Training degree. BA Sport, Coaching and PE
