Get recognised for everything you do - Is your learning up to date?
CIMSPA are reminding and encouraging all members to ensure that their qualifications, learning and CPD are up to date on the Member Portal.
To retain their professional recognition, all CIMSPA members are required to complete learning and develop their knowledge every year, demonstrating their dedication to their profession and to show customers and employers that they are competent and fit to practice.
As a CIMSPA member, what do I need to do and why?
CIMSPA’s Member Portal offers you the opportunity to upload confirmation of current and prior learning, in the shape of certificates or other evidence. This also then gives you the ability to showcase your qualifications, learning and specialist knowledge on your individual profile, via our Member Directory.
Not only does this ensure that your profile on the Member Directory is up to date, making it easy for customers and prospective clients to make more informed choices about the professionals they wish to work with, it also establishes your credibility and can advance your career by highlighting that you are dedicated to best practice, developing your skills and being qualified in your role.
A good example of this would be the opportunity to showcase your specialist skillsets such as working with children and young people, people with long-term conditions or with women and girls.
Our Employer Partners can also support the recognition of their team by reminding and encouraging their staff to keep their profiles up to date on the Member Portal, helping to ensure that all their team members are seen as knowledgeable professionals who are dedicated to continuous professional development and the wellbeing of their customers.
Colin Huffen – Associate Director for Professional Services at CIMSPA, said:
“We want to make sure that all of our members are receiving maximum impact from their relationship with us, and gaining professional recognition for their experience, skills and knowledge plays a huge part in that.
“We know that where potential customers and employers can see and verify all of a professional’s learning and expertise, particularly in relation to specialist skills needed to support participants with specific needs, their confidence in investing in working with that professional is greatly increased.”
“We are aware that some members may only be presenting us with the minimum amount of evidence in order to continue with their CIMSPA accreditation each year, when actually they have a much greater breadth of learning which both the member and the public could be using to their advantage. We would encourage those members to submit this learning to us via the Member Portal and we’ll support them in gaining the recognition that their experience deserves.”
Should you have any questions around your qualifications and learning, or how to access and upload to the Member Portal, our memberships team are available to help you, via telephone on 03438 360200 (select option #1) or via email at info@cimspa.co.uk.
