Transforming lives through employment in Sport and Physical Activity – Sign the Pledge

The sport and physical activity sector has long championed the power of movement to transform lives. Now, it’s time for us to step up to use that power to tackle a growing societal challenge, the urgent need to support young people who are not in education, employment or training (NEET) and adults who are economically inactive.

To harness our power we’re inviting employers of all sizes, and sector stakeholders to pledge their support to the Sport & Physical Activity Employability Academy, a new initiative in partnership with The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP), designed to give young people and jobseekers the skills, confidence and support they need to thrive in meaningful, long-term careers across our fantastic sector.

In collaboration with national employment schemes such as SWAP (Sector-based Work Academy Programme), Skills Bootcamps and the Youth Guarantee Scheme, we are aligning our efforts with government priorities and unlocking the full potential of our sector to deliver lasting impact through sustainable, fulfilling careers.

Shared commitment to opportunity and inclusion

By signing the pledge to support the Employability Academy, organisations across the sector can work in close partnership with CIMSPA and the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP), ensuring employability training is shaped by industry need and driven by national workforce strategies.

Together, we are creating structured, supported pathways that enable young people who are NEET and adult jobseekers to transition into sustainable, rewarding careers within sport, physical activity and active wellbeing.

Giving your support to the Sport & Physical Activity Employability Academy is not just a pledge to helping our sector become the driving force behind employability, it’s a commitment to ensuring that our sector workforce continues to grow with purpose, inclusivity and impact.
