Occupation scope & impact
- Entry Manager members are employed in the sport and physical activity sector as individuals operating in a first line management position and can work independently under some supervision and direction.
- You may be, for example; a coordinator, team leader, duty manager, first-line manager, or work as a sports development officer or community sport and health officer.
- You can demonstrate both knowledge and skills in a range of management related topics, from service improvement, people and development to risk management.

Entry Requirements
If you have 1 – 3 year’s experience in the role, you will need to provide:
- Your endorsed qualification which meets the Entry Manager professional standard.
- If older than 5 years, evidence of CPD completed within the last 5 years is required.
- Your CV

If you have 3+ years of experience in the role, you will need to provide:
- Your CV covering responsibilities within your most recent role and any CPD undertaken.

Membership join FAQs
Your account will be required to be linked your employer’s organisational account to issue your membership at the discounted price. If your account is not currently linked, we will require some information from you. Please email us on info@cimspa.co.uk
If your CIMSPA recognised entry qualification is dated over 5 years from the date of your application, you will be required to evidence:
- At least 1 CPD point of endorsed
- Or 4 hours of non-endorsed CPD.
Awarding organisation certificates display some or all of the following:
- Awarding organisation’s logo e.g. Active IQ, YMCA Awards, Innovate Awarding, Focus Awards, VTCT
- Award title e.g. Active IQ Level 3 Diploma in Fitness Instructing and Personal Training
- Qualification Accreditation Number (QAN) e.g. 600/4941/8
- Date of issue
- Certificate number
- ’Ofqual’ logo
Please note: A Unit Credit certificate, letter of confirmation or certificate issued by a Training Provider are not accepted to ensure a standardised and robust application process.
We require the contact details of your referee should additional verification be required for audit purposes. The following reference details will be requested:
- Name

- Telephone number
- Job role
- Organisation
- Your relationship
There are 2 application routes into Management membership as outlined within the Entry Requirements above to ensure those with and without an endorsed qualification can be rewarded and recognised.
Your CV is required for both routes to ensure that your experience to date can also be reviewed, considered and recognised.
If you have successfully met the professional standard following completion of your CIMSPA endorsed course and met the Management Professional Standard(s), your Professional Qualification certificate issued by CIMSPA and awarded by your institute will clearly confirm this.
