Chartered status FAQs
How long does the Chartered process take?
Your chartered assessment will encompass three separate units that make up your full chartered journey, and will take you approximately 6 months to complete, with assessments undertaken every 2 months.
Should you wish to complete this process in less than 6 months, you will be able to arrange suitable assessment dates with your allocated chartered assessor.
Who should I get in touch with to get updates on my progress?
In the initial application stage, contact the Chartered Membership Lead, George Sheldon on george.sheldon@cimspa.co.uk
Once you have been allocated a Chartered process assessor, they will support you in the lead up to your professional discussion assessment process and George is also available to assist.
My job role is both operational and strategic, can I become recognised for both?
Yes, but you may need to undertake a second assessment for Fellow.
Can my employers pay for my chartered application on my behalf?
Yes, we are able to accept a purchase order and issue an invoice to your employer.
Can I pay for my application in instalments?
No – full payment is required at the point of application before you can undertake your professional discussion.
How much does a Chartered application cost?
The cost of a Chartered application is £300 (including VAT).
How much does Chartered membership cost per year?

Will I have to pay for my membership upgrade?
Yes – your membership upgrade will be calculated on a prorated basis alongside your existing membership.
