CIMSPA has published an update and impact report for its 2024-2030 strategy – Releasing the Power of Our Profession – detailing the first full year of the strategy’s implementation.
The strategy is designed to support the sport and physical activity sector’s workforce by ensuring its professional recognition.
The report updates across the six system interventions identified within the strategy – local skills, our education ecosystem, careers support, support for businesses, workforce governance and the workforce observatory.
It details how the first year of strategy delivery has centred on a “build, test and learn” approach for the system interventions, several of which are now being combined into an integrated system to help enable professional recognition for our sector’s workforce.
Update and impact highlights from the last year include:
- The launch of our first five local skills plans which align education with employer and community needs.
- The creation of a CIMSPA partnership product for further education colleges to help connect their learners to a career in sport and physical activity.
- The extension of our 2nd generation quality assurance system to further and higher education and awarding organisation partners.
- The launch of the Training Academy for Sport and Physical Activity – helping both employers and individuals to access CIMSPA-endorsed training at the lowest cost.
- The unification of our careers support resources, jobs board and endorsed training directories into a single online platform.
- Making the Sport and Physical Activity Workforce Observatory a reality – enabling the continued impact of the sector through robust and targeted research work.
