There are 3 application routes designed to ensure an inclusive approach (more details in our application guide which you should download below).
Route 1
- You meet the criteria of experience and recognised qualifications
- You have a verifiable key competency endorsed by a CIMSPA employer partner or CIMSPA member in a senior position
Application cost: £200 (inc VAT)
Route 2
- You meet the criteria of experience and recognised qualifications
- You DO NOT have a verifiable key competency endorsed by a CIMSPA employer partner or CIMSPA member in a senior position
Application cost: £250 (inc VAT)
Route 3
- You DO NOT meet the criteria of experience and recognised qualifications
- You have a verifiable key competency endorsed by a CIMSPA employer partner or CIMSPA member in a senior position

Key stages of your application process
- Step 1 – Submit your application
- Step 2 – Complete pre-screening

- Step 7 – Your chartered assessment review and decision
- Your CIMSPA membership number is required.
- Your CV outlining your employment history, education, qualifications and continuous professional development.
- Debit / Credit Card or Direct Debit payment options are available.
- Confirm your application route.
- If undertaking route 1 or 3, submit your letter of endorsement.
- If undertaking route 2 or 3, submit your 200 word response to the pre-chartered screening brief, confirmed within the guidance document.
- Submit your personal development plan to provide the assessor a further indication of your career to date and your CPD roadmap for progression
- Confirm organisations and professional bodies with which you hold a membership or contribute towards.
- Your assessor will confirm the criteria-based questions with you to provide you with a framework for which you are able to build your portfolio of evidence to support your answers.
- Your assessment will take place in the form of a professional discussion which is a planned conversation between you and your assessor. The criteria-based questions which will underpin your discussion will be shared with you in advance to enable you to plan your responses and supplement the evidence submitted in your portfolio.
- You will arrange a suitable time and date to schedule your professional discussion with your assessor.
- Your conversation will take place over 3 hours and the discussion will be transcribed.
- You will have 5 working days reflection time to review your transcript from receipt to make any alterations or additions to support your overall application.
- Your assessor will score your finalised application and will undergo secondary internal verification over 20 working days.
- The Membership committee will meet on a quarterly basis to review process accuracy.
- You will be informed of the outcome within 5 working days of this meeting.
- All feedback will be shared with you.
