CIMSPA members join ukactive membership council

Two CIMSPA members are amongst those joining ukactive’s new membership council, which is the formal voice of their membership base. Phil Rumbelow, Chief Executive, Jubilee Hall Trust, and Neil King, Managing Director, 1Life, are two of 9 new appointments, and will represent the interests of leisure trusts and contractors respectively.

Commenting on his appointment, Phil Rumbelow said: “I represented leisure trusts as a non-executive director on the board of ukactive, and then sat on their governance oversight committee to review the board arrangements leading to the creation of the new structure. More recently, I have been involved in the employers group, facilitated by ukactive, to help develop the leisure manager standards for the Trailblazer submission to the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills”.

Neil King added his perspective: “I am innovative, and have been instrumental in the development of both the Everyone Active and 1Life local authority leisure brands. From a commercial perspective I understand that a business has to be built on the solid financial footings but that it is also essential to deliver other equally important outcomes including community engagement, social inclusion and health and wellbeing – this is how we will deliver ukactive’s vision of ‘more people more active more often'”.

CIMSPA would like to congratulate Phil and Neil on their appointments and their work to improve our sector.
