CIMSPA responds to Sport England strategy

Sport England has today launched Uniting The Movement, a new 10-year strategy to transform lives and communities through sport and physical activity.

Commenting on the new strategy, Tara Dillon, CEO of CIMSPA, said:

“CIMSPA welcomes the new Sport England strategy and sees this as a major step forward in using sport and physical activity to transform lives and communities. This is a genuinely ambitious, whole system approach that aims to harness all of the opportunities that exist to promote the health benefits of movement and physical activity.

As the Chartered Institute representing the sport and physical activity workforce, we are especially pleased to see the emphasis on people and leadership within the new strategy. Supporting and developing the professionals and volunteers who deliver activity in our communities, along with continually improving standards, diversity, inclusion, safeguarding and regulation within the sector, are all central to CIMSPA’s own vision and strategy.

We look forward to continuing to work very closely with Sport England and other partners to deliver on this strategy as we emerge from the Covid-19 pandemic and in the years to come.”
