CIMSPA responds to DfE funding withdrawal consultation

CIMSPA response to the Department for Education's announcement on the withdrawal of funding approval from qualifications with low and no publicly funded enrolments.

On 13 January 2020 the Department for Education opened a consultation on the withdrawal of funding approval for qualifications with low and no publicly funded enrolments.

The consultation identifies 5000 qualifications that are not being studied by any learners studying or, those that have fewer than 100 learners enrolled and are coming to the end of their three-year operation. Funding for these qualifications will be removed by August 2021.

129 qualifications offered by CIMSPA Awarding Organisation partners are listed to have funding removed. CIMSPA will be working with our Awarding Organisation partners and supporting them should they wish to appeal the decision by 27 March 2020.
