CIMSPA employer partner scheme launched

The Chartered Institute for the Management of Sport and Physical Activity (CIMSPA), today launched its new employer partner scheme at the ukactive and CIMSPA Active Training Workshop in Marlow.

The scheme gives employers both a role on the sector’s workforce improvement ambitions, as well as immediate professional development advantages for their staff, including discounted membership with CIMSPA.

The new partnership product is an important milestone in the chartered institute’s workforce improvement revolution, which takes an employer-led approach closely aligned to the government’s employability, skills and productivity ambitions.

Speaking about the scheme’s launch, CEO Tara Dillon commented: “our focus for the last two years has been on listening to employers and setting out the foundations of a skills landscape that meets their needs. It’s exciting to now be moving into the next chapter of the story – the employer partner scheme gives us a vehicle for sector employers to make a tangible commitment to this project.”

The launch marks the start of a vital transitional phase for CIMSPA and the sport and physical activity sector – between now and September 2017 training providers, awarding organisations, and further and higher education institutions will all be able to align their work within the framework employers have defined with CIMSPA.

The new scheme offers partnership opportunities for all service sizes – from single-facility teams with less than 10 staff, through to the sector’s largest employers.
