New CIMSPA committee members announced

In December 2017, CIMSPA began recruiting for new subcommittee members to join our newly formed Membership and Disciplinary committees.

The disciplinary committee and subsequent disciplinary panel are responsible to the board of trustees for hearing recommendations from investigations carried out by CIMSPA executives and imposing disciplinary or performance sanctions, where they conclude that conduct was below acceptable standards.

The disciplinary committee are responsible for ensuring that a fair, effective and consistent method of dealing with disciplinary and performance matters are achieved. The scope also includes encouraging improvement to members and partners conduct, performance and delivery where it is below acceptable standards.

The membership committee is responsible to the board of trustees for monitoring and approving chartered applications.

The membership committee are responsible for ensuring that the rules for chartered membership entry are defined, applied and adhered to whilst being compliant with CIMSPA’s chartered statutes and guidance issued from the CIMSPA board of the directors.

Danielle Peel, CIMSPA Head of Project and Policy said of the appointments, “We had a fantastic response from our CIMSPA members throughout the recruitment process. The new committee members are all committed to improving the institute for our members, partners and the wider sector. They are all strong communicators with great experience from a wide spectrum of backgrounds. We look forward to working with everybody.”

Both committees will help CIMSPA build the foundations to fulfil its role as the professional body for the sector and improve its area of work in recognising and recruiting chartered members and managing conduct of all CIMSPA members and partners.
