Supporting the EFDS

CIMSPA is very pleased to support the English Federation of Disability Sport’s new “Charter for Change”.

EFDS hopes the charter will lead to many more disabled people being active for life.

CIMSPA will ensure that its members, who manage and facilitate sport, activity and leisure services across the United Kingdom, are aware of our support for the charter, and will encourage them to respond to its key principles.

Backed by Gerry Sutcliffe MP (Chair of the Disability Sports All Party Parliamentary Group) and Baroness Tanni Grey-Thompson (EFDS Honorary President), the charter outlines three “asks”:

  1. Everyone involved in providing sport or physical activity will support disabled people to participate.
  2. Disabled people will have the same opportunity as non-disabled people to be active throughout their lives.
  3. All communications about sport and physical activity will promote positive public attitudes towards disabled people’s participation.

EFDS is calling upon those involved in providing opportunities and supporting disabled people to live active lives to commit their support to the charter.
