No Child Left Behind - Only 8 Weeks to go

Towards the end of 2022 we shared that we’re helping to tackle the terrible inequalities that exist around children being able to access sport and physical activity by raising money for Youth Sport Trust and the brilliant programmes they deliver in schools across the UK.

A team of over 20 participants with the help of a brilliant support team will be taking on a monster challenge aiming to carry the weight of school children up the equivalent ascent of the national 3 peaks over 2 days.

“We all know the power and life-giving advantages of being able to access sport and exercise on a regular basis and the importance of this for young people as their habits and lifestyles are developing. However, there are millions of children and young people across the UK missing out through no fault of their own and the inequalities have worsened since the pandemic with volunteer numbers dropping and living costs spiralling. It’s critical that we come together and do something about it for the health of the nation and the future of our sector” says organiser and Head of Insight & Business Transformation here at CIMSPA, Phill Wright.

The team will be taking on the epic challenge in two locations; The Peak District and the Lake District over 23 and 24 June and a lot of training and preparation has already taken place with both locations recced and some key sponsors onboard. Edale Village is basecamp in the Peak District and Honister Slate Mine in the Lake District with both having multiple options for participants to take on.

Despite only 8 weeks remaining there is still time to get involved and be part of making a huge difference to the lives of hundreds of disadvantaged children.
