New committees meet for the first time
After our recent launch our professional development committees’ work is already underway
The Exercise and Fitness and Community Sport committees met with the CIMSPA Regulation and Standards department over the last week to oversee the development of the CIMSPA Professional Standards Framework and our sport and physical activity partnerships.
Our CIMSPA Professional Standards Framework covers all the sector’s core occupations, environments and populations across all five industries.
The committees have also begun to provide leadership for the partnership between CIMSPA and over 150 of the sector’s employers, who have committed to recruiting and deploying their workforce in line with the professional standards and single qualification structure.CIMSPA’s
Natasha Eason, Education and Apprenticeships Officer at CIMSPA, said: “A big thank you to all the committee members who attended our inaugural meetings for Exercise and Fitness and Community Sport. They have been a huge success. We have a great team that all support CIMSPA’s vision and we are keen to get moving with a wide variety of projects. Our new model of professional development committees has been in the works for months and we have now realised our ambition.”
Since 2015, CIMSPA has supported the sector by bringing employers together with lead agencies, sports councils, governing bodies and education providers to support the sector to be one which everyone wants to be part of.
