CIMSPA Endorsement for three Coventry University Degrees

CIMSPA Higher Education partner, Coventry University, has successfully been endorsed in three of its sport degree courses, taught at the Coventry Campus. Both undergraduate and postgraduate degree courses have gained CIMSPA endorsement after being mapped against the sector’s professional standards.

Their BSc in Sport and Exercise Science aims to provide students with a strong scientific understanding of human physiology, psychology, anatomy, biomechanics and biochemistry. It has been mapped to the professional standard ‘Personal Trainer’.

The BSc Sports Coaching degree, mapped to the ‘Coach’ professional standard, aims to develop competent and reflective coaches capable of developing future sports stars and build skills and confidence to teach in school settings or positively impact lifelong participation in physical activity.

The University’s MSc in Strength and Conditioning is designed to equip students with the advanced knowledge, understanding and skills to become a professional strength and conditioning coach. It also aims to give students the opportunity to use exercise training to enhance human performance across sport, occupational and health domains. It has been mapped to the professional standard ‘Graduate Strength and Conditioning Coach’.

As part of the partnership, students are able to apply for membership to CIMSPA, allowing access to a range of resources that will be invaluable to them as they progress to a career in their chosen area of sport.
