Your monthly CIMSPA podcast is back with the latest news and updates from the team and a feature interview with Chair of the CIMSPA board of Trustees, Marc Woods.
Mark is a gold medal Paralympian who has created and delivered leadership and communication strategies and development programmes for organisations working in 32 countries.
Sharing his thoughts about the new DCMS strategy, Get Active, Marc praises how it recognises the workforce as a priority, from the impact it has supporting the NHS, to the Workforce Governance and National Workforce Registration project that will enable people to have safer experiences and enjoy sport in more positive environments. Also, Marc commends the strategy in supporting CIMSPA’s approach to understanding local community skill shortages with the goal of creating a workforce to fulfil local needs.
Marc goes on to draw on his own experiences to articulate how specialist skills can make a huge difference for patients in coping with and rehabilitating following cancer treatment, whilst also saving the NHS over £1,200 per patient and aiding local communities and the wider economy through faster recovery times.
