Over this summer we’ve seen some fantastic examples of sporting inspiration at the Olympics and Paralympics which will help to inspire participation and activity in communities across the country.
The Paralympics in particular showcases how disability is no barrier to being active.
The talented and dedicated coaches and wider support teams that get those athletes to the games, are real champions themselves, providing the technical and motivational input and support to drive success.
And although the sporting feats that we’ve been seeing on our screens from Paris can be the catalyst for people to get more active, it will be another set of champions, the instructors, coaches and other professionals working in communities that turn that wish to take part into regular participation.
Those professionals, who can be found through the CIMSPA Directory, have a diverse set of skills and expertise which help people with a range of needs and challenges to engage in activity.
A central place for professionals to be recognised
The Directory enables potential clients to identify professionals based on the type of activity that they can provide, for example Personal Trainer Practitioner or Swimming Teacher Practitioner. It can also help them to find professionals that are able to provide support to help those who need specialist provision which is reflective of the barriers that they may be facing to engagement, for example Exercise Referral Practitioner or Tai Chi for Health and Wellbeing Practitioner.
It’s also possible to search by chartered and chartered fellow professionals, enabling individuals that are looking for a sport and physical activity professional to find those that have completed the chartership assessment process.
As we continue to highlight how those working in our sector can gain greater professional recognition for the expert work that they do to help people lead happy, healthy and active lives, being identified through the CIMSPA Directory for the skills that you have is a key way for potential clients to find the professional that meets their needs.
