LGA call for evidence: Supporting women and girls to be active
The Local Government Association (LGA) has launched a call for evidence of how councils and organisations are supporting women and girls to be more physically active.
Whether it’s a local intervention or driving fundamental infrastructure changes, the LGA want to hear about how you are effectively tackling inactivity and low participation levels in girls and women.
They are looking for case studies of interventions and activities that are working well to get women and girls physically active, along with evidence of what’s not working and what needs to change.
Findings will then be shared to influence effective practice and assist in shaping discussions with national stakeholders.
Commenting on the request Tara Dillion, CIMSPA CEO said:
“We are committed to supporting, developing and enabling professionals and organisations to succeed, and a significant part of this focuses on giving them the insights and tools to inspire their communities to become more active, regardless of their background, race, gender, or beliefs.
"Our vision is to shape a sport and physical activity sector that everyone can be a part of, developing truly inclusive environments that encourage participation and make everyone feel welcome, valued, and respected.
"I would encourage any of our members and partners to contribute evidence to the LGA where they can. Together we will strive to break down the barriers women and girls face in becoming more physically active.”
