Inspiring more young people into sport and physical activity careers with Unifrog

We are delighted to announce a new partnership with career and study decisions platform, Unifrog, which will help more young people discover the fantastic benefits of working in the sport and physical activity sector.

Unifrog is an online resource used in over 3,500 schools and colleges, with over 1.2 million young people actively accessing information on careers, learning and apprenticeships.

We have worked with Unifrog to create a new showcase for careers which enables young people to understand the breadth of opportunities in the sector and potential entry routes.

We have also created detailed career profiles featuring CIMSPA members to help young people gain a greater understanding of what it is really like to build a career in the sector and undertake roles such as Coach, Group Exercise Instructor and Personal Trainer.

Clare Dunn, Associate Director of Business Engagement at CIMSPA said,

“We are so pleased to be working with Unifrog to encourage more young people to consider a career in our fantastic sector.

"There are so many great opportunities available, but we know that not everyone gets to see everything that we do. Perceptions of roles in our sector are sometimes narrow and there can be a view that there aren’t sustainable career and development pathways available.

"Having the opportunity to myth-bust and help young people discover the different types of roles and career routes available is great. This will contribute to our work in building professional recognition for the sector and a pipeline of future talent by inspiring more people to start a career in sport and physical activity.

"There definitely seems to be an appetite from young people to find out more about working in our sector. We only launched this resource a few weeks ago and already over 4,500 young people have been exploring the career videos and information that we’ve created.”

As part of the partnership, CIMSPA is also leading webinars for students, teachers and careers advisers to enhance understanding of opportunities in sport and physical activity.

This partnership builds on CIMSPA’s work to highlight career opportunities in the sector, through our own Careers Hub and Careers Guide.
