Ceredigion gets £200k funding for sports facilities

Ceredigion County Council’s latest project to improve sport and leisure facilities in the county has been given a £204,000 boost from the latest round of Sport Wales capital funding.

3G pitches at Cardigan and Synod Inn, which have already been completed, and the installation of the new carpet at Lampeter have all benefitted from Sports Wales investment.

The next project is to upgrade the current disused floodlit tennis court area adjacent to Aberystwyth’s Plascrug Leisure Centre to an all-weather multi-sport facility.

Initial works are taking place to meet the grant’s conditions. The aim is for construction works to take place over the summer months.

Funding for the 3G Pitches was received from Sport Wales, Wales Grassroots Fund and the UK Shared Prosperity Fund with Sport Wales also supporting the Lampeter project.
