Several key appointments to boost demand at Right Directions
Right Directions, which manages Sport England’s quality mark Quest, has grown its team to support demand.
The health & safety and quality management company has created five new roles to cover all aspects of the business, from managing Quest accreditations and mystery visits to looking after client contracts and handling day-to-day administration.
Phil Lown joins Right Directions as a senior quest assessor, having spent the previous five years working in public health including assignments to the Exercise Referral Quality Standard and Accreditation for Suffolk.
Lown started in the health and fitness sector straight after leaving Loughborough University. He has worked in sports centres, swimming pools and the National Governing Body for swimming, Swim England.
Joining as operations manager (South) is Dave Chivers, having come from Serco UK and Europe where he was head of quality, health, safety, security and environment (QHSSE) for the Citizen Services’ business unit.
His day-to-day role will include conducting health & safety assessments, inspections, audits, providing support, advice and guidance to clients, writing, reviewing and proofing procedures and implementing clients’ quality management systems.
Health, safety and quality support manager Jack Bernard will be working on the newly acquired Lee Valley Regional Park Authority contract, as part of their dedicated health & safety team. The contract covers Olympic standard venues right through to more unique venues, such as campsites and marinas.
With a background in both local authority leisure and private health clubs, Michelle Dorsett was self-employed offering first aid training to businesses, parents, schools and individuals. She has since joined Right Directions as a health & safety and quality support manager.
Newly appointed health & safety and quality support manager Gary Milne has enjoyed a long career in private, public and trust-run leisure, from the basket room to the board room and from single-site facilities to multi-site contracts including events and hospitality, as well as running his own spa business for 13 years.
Day-to-day, Milne will carry out health and safety auditing, mystery visits and Quest assessments, as well as delivering a range of IOSH safety management training.
