Trio of trustees appointed to Women in Sport Board
Women in Sport (WiS) has announced three new appointments to its Board of Trustees in its 40th anniversary year.
CEO of Shelter Polly Neate CBE, sports lawyer Yama Otung and former England rugby player Brian Moore have been entrusted with the roles at the charity.
Former CEO of Women’s Aid, Neate has spent many years campaigning and influencing at the highest levels of government.
She is a commentator on leadership, feminism and women’s issues, and also an active member of the paraclimbing community.
Otung is a sports lawyer and head of dispute resolution at Livida Sport and former trustee of the Palace for Life Foundation, who has extensive experience in the sports industry, championing the rights of athletes.
Former England rugby union player Brian Moore also comes onboard as a trustee.
As a trained solicitor he sat on the committee that developed the Duty of Care Independent Report led by Dame Tanni Grey-Thompson.
Alongside bolstering its Board, WiS has also increased its staff team with Olympic gold-medallist Joanna Rowsell joining the organisation as partnerships manager and ex-BBC Radio presenter Julia George taking up a consultancy role.
