£15m contract for Everyone Active to transform Bristol leisure centres

Everyone Active has signed an agreement with Bristol City Council that will see more than £8m invested in the city’s leisure offering.

A 15-year deal will see Everyone Active invest £4.7m, with the council topping that up to £8m.

The contract will see the leisure provider continue to manage Horfield Leisure Centre, Bristol South Swimming Pool, Henbury Leisure Centre, Easton Leisure Centre and St Pauls Community Sports Academy, and extend its relationship with the council.

There will be larger fitness suites, new state-of-the-art studios, 3G pitch replacements and soft play and café areas as part of the extensive refurbishment work done over the next three years.

A programme of decarbonisation measures will also happen in line with the council’s One City Climate Strategy to become carbon neutral and climate resilient by 2030.

Everyone Active has also appointed a civic partnership manager to focus on social value in Bristol. That will include improving the levels of health and wellbeing and reduce anti-social behaviour by using activity for positive behaviour change.
