GLL celebrates National Fitness Day
National Fitness Day 2023 saw GLL-operated Better facilities open their doors across the country with free sessions to raise awareness of the importance of healthier lifestyles.
As a social enterprise leisure provider, GLL sees improving community health and wellbeing as a priority. It wanted to shift the focus. While bringing people together through physical activity on National Fitness Day has a hugely positive impact, GLL encouraged customers to view this day as just one step in a much bigger fitness and healthy living journey.
Centres, operated under the Better brand, hosted at least one of the following free activities: cardio fitness class, dance fitness class, mind and body fitness class, strength and conditioning fitness class, swimming and gym.
GLL had over 2,500 customers through its doors during the day, where the most popular activity was the strength and conditioning fitness class.
Cornwall saw the most visits of GLL’s 50 partnerships with 200 visits, and Windrush Leisure Centre in South Oxfordshire was the highest for a single centre with 118 customers participating.
National Fitness Day also coincided with the opening of GLL’s new boutique facility Elevate at King’s Cross.
